PSNI 2 Saintfield 1

Saturday, 19 April 2008

Saintfield failed to take their penalty corner opportunities and this helped the police to clinch the Sussex Regiment Cup at Deramore Park.

PSNI led 1-0 at the halfway stage when Brian Caskey scored from a penalty corner.

Gradually Saintfield came more into the encounter and they managed to level after ten minutes when good work by Thomas Gordon resulted in Conor Ferguson levelling.

Saintfield should have gone in front considering their better possession but towards the close Michael Johnston cut through the opposition and blasted the ball into the net for victory.
