Newly-crowned Podium Premier League champions Cookstown looked like they
were still in hangover mode during an unusually sluggish first half-hour
against Lisnagarvey at Coolnafranky today.
Saintfield failed to take their penalty corner opportunities and this helped
the police to clinch the Sussex Regiment Cup at Deramore Park.
Age and experience helped North Down to victory in the Strabane Cup Final
although they had to withstand some late pressure from South Antrim.
This afternoon's Irish Senior Cup final at the National Stadium, Belfield,
between Dublin sides Pembroke Wanderers and Monkstown was expected to be a
tight affair and so it proved, despite the scoreline.
Richard Montgomery hit four of the Newry goals when they won an eight goal
thriller against South Antrim in Section One of the Senior League at
Laurelhill.
